Since WandaVision came to an emotional end in Friday’s finale, it would be easy for Marvel fans to feel a little despondent after being treated to such an exceptional new MCU tale over the course of the past two months – but really, there’s nothing to be sad about. That’s because there’s another Disney+ Marvel series about to hit our screens in a matter of weeks – The Falcon And The Winter Soldier, exploring what happens to Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes after that shield handover scene in Avengers: Endgame, begins on Friday 19 March, and Marvel has just shared a bunch of new character posters to tee up the show.
First up, here’s Anthony Mackie’s Falcon – not yet Captain America, but grappling with the legacy of what it means to have been handed the shield by Steve Rogers himself.
Sure to cause all kind of mayhem for the duo, Daniel Brühl is back in the picture as Zemo – this time finally donning that purple comic book mask for a more heightened villain aesthetic. Snazzy.
And finally, providing some much-needed help to Sam and Bucky is Emily VanCamp’s returning Sharon Carter – last seen going on the run at the end of Civil War, and with a costume here that still has real off-the-grid vibes.
While The Falcon And The Winter Soldier was initially planned as the first Marvel series on the small screen, WandaVision beat it to the punch after pandemic delays – and now, the show has its work cut out to follow the Scarlet Witch and Vision’s knockout sitcom-styled thriller. We’ll find out if Sam and Bucky are up to the task when the series begins on Disney+ on 19 March. In the meantime, Marvel fans have WandaVision making-of doc Assembled to keep them going in the week off – dropping this Friday.
